Project Overview
We undertook a unique project in Ormskirk, which involved a collaborative effort between three neighbouring households. The driveways and shared laneway needed some serious care and attention from our professional team. The tarmac seemed to be the most cost-effective material for the three households that they all agreed on.
Preparation and Excavation
The first step of this amiguous project started as all projects do, by clearing and excavating the uneven, dated existing driveway. This included clearing the area from patchy tarmac, debris, weeds and chaotic gravel. As the team began the excavation process, it became more and more prominent how essential proper groundwork would be to ensure a lasting result. The area was levelled as the neighbours watched, excited to see years of inconvenience replaced by the long overdue upgrade. By the end of the preparation phase, the area was clean, even, and ready for the next step of construction.
Structural Enhancements
With the groundworks complete, it was time for our team to focus on adding structure and definition to the space. New kerbs were laid to clearly mark the edges of each driveway and to enhance the overall aesthetic.
Decorative edging stones were installed, blending practical support with visual appeal. These not only helped to frame the driveways and laneway but also brought a sense of uniformity while allowing each driveway to maintain its own unique character.
These enhancements gave the project a clear sense of shape and order, a welcome change from the undefined, haphazard layout that had existed before. The neighbours could now envision the final product as the clean lines of the kerbs and edging began to take form.
