Extended driveway in Blackburn, started digging out the garden to extend the driveway. Dug the area out approximately 12 inches, put some large stone for the foundation then covered it with MOT type one hard-core, compressed it with a Vibrating whacker plate then we laid a membrane sheeting over the complete area to prevent weeds and moss coming through.
The driveway was previously garden and then laid the 50 mil driveline paving on top of a 2 inches bed of sharp sand which was compressed with a vibrating whacker plate once all the paving was laid. We brushed a Kiln dried sand throughout the full complete area to give it a nice tight finish and then gave it another compression with the whacker plate. We also put a brick on the edge and on the side of the driveway to retain the high Garden.
