Duration: 1 1/2 week
Project Location: Burnley, UK
Project Type: Residential Outdoor Redesign
Client Brief: The client requested a complete redesign of the outdoor space surrounding their new build property. The goal was to enhance the usability of the garden, integrate a modern patio space, and create distinct design features that add character to the property.
Design Features and Execution:
- Indian Sandstone Patio: The focal point of the redesign was the installation of a new Indian Sandstone patio. This natural stone was chosen for its durability and the rich variation in color, which adds depth and a unique aesthetic to the outdoor space.
- Sleeper Flowerbeds: Custom-designed sleeper flowerbeds were constructed to bring organic elements and greenery into the design. These raised beds, built with sturdy wooden sleepers, provide an ideal environment for planting a variety of flowers and shrubs.
- Wooden Sleeper Edging: The design incorporated wood sleeper edging to demarcate different areas of the garden, creating visual interest and structure. The natural wood adds warmth and complements the stone patio.
- Lawn Area: A new lawn area was laid down, providing a soft, green space for recreational activities. The grass area was carefully levelled and seeded to ensure a lush, even coverage.
- Drainage Solutions: Attention was given to practical aspects such as drainage, with the inclusion of strategically placed drains to ensure the patio remains usable throughout the year.
- Design and Character: Throughout the project, design details were emphasized to enhance the character of the outdoor space. This included the strategic placement of sleeper beds and the choice of sandstone with varied hues.
