Project Overview
We recently completed a stunning resin bound driveway transformation for a customer in Bury. The original driveway was tired, uneven and in need of an upgrade. We replaced the old concrete surface with a UV-stable resin surface, the transformation is outstanding!
Removal of the Existing Driveway
We began the project by removing the original worn concrete surface. This involved cutting and breaking up the old material and then safely disposing of the waste. This cleared the area and revealed the sub-base, allowing for preparation. Then we excavated the area to the required depth and installed a new MOT Type 1 hardcore base. The base was thoroughly compacted using a plate compactor, this ensured a firm and stable foundation. The levels were given time to set to allow for correct water runoff.

Edging with Decorative Block Paving
We installed a modern block paved border to frame the new driveway. The edge featured a combination of charcoal and red bricks that were arranged in a bold herringbone and soldier course pattern. This pattern not only added a decorative element, but also added strength, preventing future movement.
Resin Bound Surface Installation
The highlight of this project is the installation of a high-quality resin bound surface. A blend of natural stone aggregates was mixed with UV-stable resin, it was then poured onto the prepared surface to create a smooth, seamless finish. This permeable layer is not only attractive but also SUDS compliant, allowing water to drain through easily and effectively.
The Final Result
The finished driveway is a stunning resin bound surface that significantly boosts the property’s kerb appeal. The smooth, seamless surface is not only visually striking but also highly practical, providing slip resistance, low maintenance and long-lasting durability. It permeable properties allow water to drain naturally, this helps to prevent puddles and surface flooding.
